Angular contact ball bearings have axially offset raceways on the inner and outer rings, are available in single-row and double-row versions, can be loaded radially and axially, however, axial forces can only be transmitted in one direction. They are adjustable in relation to the second bearing which takes on an axial load of the opposite sense.
The axial load capacity of angular contact ball bearings increases with the increase of the contact angle α (the angle between the line of action of the load on the ball and the plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the bearing). The size of the angle α is specified in the additional designation. Angular contact ball bearings are not separable and their suitability for angular displacement is negligible. They are suitable for high rotational speeds.
