Thrust rings are construction elements of needle bearings, they are also called longitudinal needle roller assemblies. They enable the construction of bearing arrangements with very high axial load capacity while requiring little space. The support ring is a needle cage that can work without an inner or outer ring. Retaining rings can only absorb axial loads in one direction, they do not carry radial loads.
