A linear bearing cage is an essential component of a linear rolling bearing based on linear guides. The main task of the bearing cage is to keep the rolling elements inside the bearing on the raceways of the guides in the correct working position. The shape and material of the bearing cages depends on the conditions and environment of its operation. Most often, bearing cages are made of metal: aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass or plastic.

The load capacity of a linear bearing depends on the type, number and direction of the arrangement of the rolling elements in it, and these parameters are determined by the design and length of the bearing cage. Rolling elements Bearing balls, shafts and bearing needles are used as rolling elements in linear cages. The rolling elements are made of bearing steel, stainless steel or ceramic materials. To maintain high precision of rolling of a linear bearing, the parameters of the rolling elements used have a great influence - their diameter, cylindricity, surface smoothness.
