Cross bearings consist of outer and inner rings, rolling elements and plastic spacers. The outer ring is divided and held together by three ring lugs.
Due to the cross arrangement of the shafts, these bearings absorb axial forces in both directions as well as radial forces, tipping moment loads and any combination of bearing loads. As a result, designs that have previously required two bearings can be reduced to one.
The cross bearings are very stiff, have a very high running accuracy and are supplied with normal play, no play or pretensioned. The mounting of the bearing outer rings in the housing is easy, using clamping rings. Crossed bearings are designed for precision applications and their dimensions comply with the ISO 18 dimension series according to DIN 616.
