Plastic bearings are resistant to salt water and many chemicals. Plastic ball bearings have acetal rings (POM-C) and nylon cages (PA66) as standard. We offer plastic bearings with alternative ring or cage materials such as PEEK, PTFE or PVDF for greater resistance to corrosion or extreme temperatures. Keep in mind that plastic is more prone to expansion and contraction when exposed to temperature. Standard bearings are open, but can be supplied with plastic covers on request.

Plastic bearings are used in the marine industry, depending on the material of the ball and cage, they can be permanently immersed in seawater. PVDF bearings are often used in swimming pools due to their resistance to chlorine.
Acetal bearings with nylon cages have a temperature range of -30 ° C to 100 ° C. This range can be extended with a variety of ring and cage materials. PTFE can be used at temperatures down to -190 ° C, while PEEK is a good option at high temperatures up to 250 ° C.
It is recommended to use the bearings at much lower loads and rated speeds to ensure a reasonable bearing life.
