HepcoMotion, the world leader in linear motion technology, has taken up a new challenge beyond the standard applications of its products. HepcoMotion's HDRT curve guides were used in an installation by the famous Czech artist David Cerny.

The installation located near the Old Town of Prague shows the head of the Czech writer Franz Kafka. The monument is divided into 42 rotating segments, which are properly positioned to show the face of the famous writer. Made of stainless steel, HepcoMotion curve guides act like large 1.6 m diameter thrust bearings to support and rotate each segment.

HDRT round guides used in the installation are guides with an external V-shaped profile. with a rack cut inside, on which the drive gears move. Stainless steel rollers with high load capacity roll on the outer surface of the guides. The precise design of the rack allows smooth rotation.

HDRT circular guides have less friction compared to slewing rings and require minimal lubrication. This translates to low maintenance costs and the segments can rotate continuously over a long period of time.

HDRT guides are available up to a diameter of 1.8 m, both in bearing steel and stainless steel, with a load capacity of more than five tons.
